Today it is not a secret that the Internet is the greatest achievement of the XX th century. At present more and more people prefer to do everything via the Internet: communicate with friends and relatives, establish businesses and make money, some people even try to find lovers on the Internet, study foreign languages and certainly order goods on the Internet.

Do you like buying things on the Internet? I personally highly appreciate Internet shops where I can order this or that thing, because my experience shows me that they really save my time and money as well. And also on the Internet you can find any information you want to know about the product; it helps a lot if you can not decide what to buy.

Several weeks ago I decided to change lighting in my flat. Usually if I need to find something I try to group words in such a way that it would be easy for a search engine to find necessary site, but that time I didn’t exactly know what I wanted, so I decided to write in a search engine only one word - “lighting”.

I was surprised to the amount of sites and articles that the search engine found. There were sites where one could buy lights for bathroom or buy outdoor lighting. There were a lot of online shops that deserved attention for instance lighting store. But my attention was attracted by a lightings online store, because here there were so many items to choose from! There I found what I was really looking for. And I placed here an order without any hesitation.

They delivered me my order the next day and my husband changed lighting on weekends. I was very glad that I managed to buy these lamps. And I really like how my flat looks now.

At present millions of people use the Internet every day. Some of them use it for communication with friends, relatives and acquaintances, who live in different countries; it’s a source of international political, cultural, economic and other news, a source of necessary information and entertainment; some people make money via the Internet, for others it’s an easy way for conducting business; a lot of people today prefer to save their precious time and money and buy things their need from the Internet shops.

Not long ago I compared for what purposes I personally, my friends and relatives use the Internet. I found out that we had more in common than I’d thought before: for instance almost all of us use it for communication with people who live in other parts of the world. Almost all of us get necessary information from it and read news there. And we all use the Internet for buying things that we need, but what we purchase depends on our needs, tastes and preferences.

I for example made several purchases in a digital cameras online store last month; my brother after reading a number of reviews on the Internet and visiting many forums finally decided to buy a camera and all necessary things in a photo processing equipment store. We both remained satisfied with our buyings; and we both think that to order things on the Internet is very convenient and timesaving. My father has the same opinion: several weeks ago he had to visit a Lexmark printer accessories store because he needed some appliances for the printer that he has in his office. As far as my cousin is concerned he had been dreaming about iPod for several months and finally he managed to save necessary amount of money and bought one in an iPod mini accessories shop. And my friend for example managed to buy Bluetooth headset for iPhone in an online store cheaper than she was offered in a traditional shop.

And in the end I’d like to say that though we all use the Internet for different purposes, we all can hardly imagine our lives without this smart invention!

I’m sure you will agree that the Internet has changed our lives. Today we can hardly do without it. The Internet provides us with a great number of services: it is a means of entertainment and a source of news; it gives us opportunity to communicate with friends and acquaintances from different parts of the world; the Internet provides the opportunity to earn money; it facilitates and makes easier communication with our foreign business partners and certainly it serves as a world market, because today one person has an opportunity to order goods from abroad through the Internet.

As for me I use the Internet every day because I need it for my work and also I use it for communication with my aunt who lives in Germany and several friends who live in different countries of the world. I usually prefer to save my precious time, money and my energy and order goods in online shops. I’m sure that the Internet facilitates our lives and makes them more pleasant and comfortable (for example in such a way).

Almost all my friends, relatives and acquaintances order goods on the Internet and several weeks ago I decided to make a small poll and turned to them with such a question:
- What was your last buying on the Internet?

Answers were very different. For instance my cousin said that she ordered discount panties when she was on the Internet for the last time. My acquaintance’s answer was: “I purchased discount for me and my sister”. My mother bought something in a Kenneth Cole shop and my brother placed an order in an Azzaro perfume shop on the Internet. My neighbour said that she visited eye brows shop when she was looking through pages with online stores. But the answer of my loyal friend surprised me most of all. She said that when she entered the Internet for the last time she was going to find a swimsuit for herself but she occasionally found a site for lesbian dating online and she visited this site just because of the interest. But I wasn’t surprised at all by the answer of my acquaintance on the ICQ that she found a popular diet pills shop where she placed an order for new pills (frankly speaking she is really crazy about dieting and all these pills).

So I came to conclusion that the Internet helps all of us. And though it helps us in different ways it really makes our lives easier.

I think that the majority of people will agree that repair is a necessity, hated routine, activity you can not avoid, that you dislike but nevertheless you can not do without it once in several years.

Nearly a month ago I decided to make a small repair in my house. I asked my friend to help me as she is a designer. We agreed that she would pick me up at 4 p.m. near my house. I wore the most comfortable shoes I had as I thought that we would visit dozens of shops and at agreed time I was standing in the street waiting for my friend. Finally she drove up, stopped the engine and got out of the car. It looked like we didn’t go anywhere.

- Oh, yeah! You are right! Everything we need is just your laptop - she said.

I was puzzled. When we came into the house she explained me that to her mind there was no necessity to spend a lot of time visiting a great number of shops because we had an access to “the greatest invention of the XXth century - the Internet”.

Later I understood that she was right because we find without any difficulties where to shop for rugs (there was a nice shop that offered ivory rugs buy online), we found some sites where one could buy kitchen racks and we managed to find a sofas shop online that offered a great variety of choice. It took us only an hour to choose all the things I needed! I was impressed and even a bit shocked!

The rest of the evening we were pleasantly chatting, surfing on the Internet, drinking coffee and looking through my summer photos. It was a nice evening.

When my friend left I was thinking for some time what a nice thing the Internet was. And starting from that evening I decided to save my precious time and money and buy all necessary things on the Internet!

Have you ever thought what a wonderful thing the Internet is? Do you realize how it has changed our minds and understanding of the world we live in? Today you can do almost everything through the Internet: to chat with your friends and relatives who live far from you (and you even have an opportunity to see them, of course if you have a web-camera), you can freely establish business relations, conduct business negations and make money via the Internet, you can find a partner on the Internet and even buy products and things via it. Isn’t it wonderful?

Nearly a week ago I decided to make a small experiment. I wanted to buy shoes, but frankly speaking I didn’t know what shoes I wanted to buy, I couldn’t clearly imagine what they should look like, that’s why I gave the opportunity to find nice shoes for me to the Internet. I put into a search engine only one word: “shoes”. It found for me thousands of sites, I even didn’t expect such a variety of choice! Among the sites it found there were very famous brands like “Altama Footwear shop” or “Converse Women’s for sale” but it wasn’t what I really needed this time, thought I added this site to my special list where I keep sites that can be useful for me. Also the search engine found two interesting sites “Cheap Diesel footwear” and “Hush Puppies online shop” that immediately attracted my attention, and I also add them to my list. I looked through a lot of sites with shoes, I even visited site where one can buy Toms shoes but this site I visited because of interest (it’s not what I really like). What I really like are sites where it’s possible to buy unisex shoes, it’s my style, and finally I found a site where I could buy Cheap Boy’s footwear. Here I found many models I liked and it wasn’t difficult for me to choose one that I liked most of all. I bought those shoes and remained satisfied.

And in the end I’d like to say that today the Internet facilitates our life in a number of ways. I saved a lot of time buying shoes in the Internet shop and some money as well. That’s why sometimes I think that my life would be dull without the Internet.

What do you usually talk about when you gather together with your friends or relatives? It seems to me that all of us have beloved themes for conversation. For instance my mother likes to talk about her plants (it’s her favourite topic), my best friend adores discussing the latest trends of fashion and everything connected with shopping, but for my cousin beloved theme for conversation is vehicles.

I visited my cousin two weeks ago. I stayed with him in his house about four hours and frankly speaking I got tired of discussing cars, motorcycles and bicycles. During all these hours he couldn’t stop talking about discount Mamba wheels and about BMW tuning that he had read about on the Internet. At first when we were drinking the first cup of coffee it was even interesting to listen to Bill (my cousin). But in two hours it had started to annoy me.

I got even angrier (though I didn’t show it), when my cousin said that a car of his wife had some problems with fuel system and offered me to look through some sites where it was possible to buy Audi fuel system. While he was looking for such a site I was sitting near him and yawning. It was very tiresome. When I decided to visit my cousin I didn’t think that he would spend time on the Internet when I would sit next to him. And occasionally he found a Suzuki tires shop online, he immediately tolled me that his friend was looking for these tires for a long time; after that he phoned this friend and they talked about 15 minutes! It was the last straw when my cousin decided to visit a site that offered Deflectors for sale. It was terrible! So in twenty minutes I said to my cousin that I had a meeting with a friend of mine in a cafe and left.

And now I don’t have desire to visit my cousin in the near future!

Well it’s my sister’s birthday next week and I want to choose her a nice and useful present; not merely a present that that will collect dust on her shelf but such a present that will be necessary and helpful for her.

I thought what to buy as a present for several weeks, but it seems to me that she has all necessary things like domestic appliances, all kinds of souvenirs, different towels and bedclothes, pets (she has a cat, a dog and even a small parrot), etc. So I decided to look for interesting and peculiar presents on the Internet.

I was surfing about three hours; I found some sites that offered extraordinary presents but nevertheless I didn’t find there any presents that really deserved my attention and what my sister would like. So I turned to traditional presents and decided that I’d better look for a good watch for her.

I wrote in a line of search engine one word: “watches”. The search engine found a lot of sites for me, for instance Ebel watches store or an online shop that offered to shop for Columbia watches. I don’t know why but it even found a Men’s jewelry shop for me though I didn’t ask.

There was a nice online store where it was possible to buy watches. I liked the variety of choice in this shop and their prices, but unfortunately I didn’t find such a watch that managed to impress me at once; and I decided to continue my search.

A bit later I found a store where one could purchase Festina watches. As soon as I opened the first page of this shop I saw a watch that was what I was really looking for. A thought flitted through my mind:
- My sister will certainly appreciate this watch.

And I placed an order without any hesitation. They delivered it next day and I remained satisfied. I’m sure that my sister will be satisfied as well.

I personally more often use the Internet to find information I’m interested in or I need for my work and I also quite often order goods in online shops. I prefer to purchase in the Internet shops first of all house appliances and different components for my computer like printer for instance, and I never buy shoes or clothes there because it’s necessary to try them before buying.

For example during the last two or three months I managed to buy Canon cartridges on sale, purchase Sanyo photo equipment, FujiFilm photo paper for cheap and even to make some iPhone chargers deals. I think that buying such things on the Internet you save a lot of precious time and some money as well. You can also ask for a delivery if you purchase a large and heavy thing and don’t trouble how to carry it home.

For me the Internet is a means of information and entertainment most of all, but for my sister it’s a way to earn money. She has started to work in such a way not long ago but she is quite successful. My best friend can be a good example of women who think that it’s possible to find true love on the Internet, but I also have to admit that her own story proves that it’s really possible.

It saved me a lot of time and energy and in the evening cause I wasn’t tired we went for a walk with my husband and our children. It was a great day that changed my life radically!
