What is home theatre? Home theatre is a complex the main task of which is demonstration of films and other video materials with multi-channel (surrounding) sound. The minimal configuration of any home theatre consists of one or several sources of video signal, appliances for its imaging, decoder of multi-channel sound with distribution amplifiers and a kit of acoustic systems for reproduction of sound from general channels and also for low-frequency effects.

Components of home theatre.
Source point. This is a device which forms video and audio signal by means of reading data from any information medium or by means of receiving translated flow. In the modern home theatre the sources are DVD-players, satellite receivers or players of new generation with imaging with high accuracy: Blu-ray and HD DVD.
The devices for imaging video signal are kinescope TV-set, FPD or video projector with projection screen. The choice of device depends on the conditions of viewing and image of which size you want to get.
AV-processor. It is the brain of the whole home theatre. It contains a commutator. Commutator allows to connect more than ten different sources points. Also AV-processor contains audio-decoder which deciphers digital flow (Dolby Digital, DTS,etc) which coming from source point.
Power amplifier. It is the last part on the way of audio signal from source point to acoustic system. Its task to raise amplitude of the signal and current strength to such level at which this signal could make dynamics loudspeakers reproduce sound.
AV-receiver. It is a result of reunion of AV-processor and multichannel power amplifier.
And one of the most important components is of course acoustic system (speakers, sub woofers). Nowadays on the market there is a great choice of speakers (cabinet, embedded) with different types of emitters (dynamic,horn,etc).
